Hello Neighbors,
With the very high temperatures we’ve been experiencing, it takes a little planning to make sure your Blue Stem plantings and lawn will survive when you are away for a week or more on vacation. See this article by Red Dirt Gardening for survival tips.

Hopefully the Board of Directors are watching the entrances’ sprinkler system closely as quite a few of our plantings and trees are showing great stress due to a lack of water. Today’s rain may have helped temporarily but the heat wave will evaporate the moisture before long. Be a good neighbor and keep a watch.

Kindergarten Plans for New Moore Elementary School

A new elementary school is being built nearby at Santa Fe and 34th St. Presently, there are no plans for an all day kindergarten class. If this effects you and your family, you might want to speak your opinion to local school officials.

Blue Stem Ridge Holiday Decorations

Neighbors,
I just wanted to let everyone know that we plan on having holiday decorations/ lights installed on both entrances. We are purchasing the lights and wreaths and we would like to consider adding more to our display in the following years. I want to thank Mrs. Sherri Gutteridge (I hope I spelled that correctly)for her help with the holiday decor and also for hosting such a wonderful Halloween event! Hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!

Blue Stem Ridge Arboretum

It”s been great to see more progress happening on the Arboretum that adjoins Blue Stem Ridge. We have seen workers this week building sidewalks and walking trails amongst the trees. This is going to be a great area for families and individuals to enjoy the beauty of nature as well as getting exercise.

Blue Stem Ridge & Southmoore High School

Blue Stem Ridge will see the traffic pick up again as the Southmoore students and staff start back to school on Thursday. Our neighborhood is proud to have such a fine high school in its midst as well as being home to Southmoore’s principal.

According to 2008 statistics, enrollment was 1,723. This included 257 seniors, 429 juniors, 527 sophomores, and 509 freshmen. The number of faculty is approx 142.*

The school day lasts 6 hours, with 55 minute periods for 180 days.*

We hope you all have a great school year. We wish the faculty well as they prepare tomorrow’s citizens and leaders. We hope all students will study hard, ask lots of questions and think for yourselves. America’s future depends on you!

Blue Stem Ridge & Legal Issues Seminar

Blue Stem Ridge neighbors are encouraged to attend this helpful and informative seminar. The Neighborhood Alliance, OK City, announces the return of the Legal Issues Seminars with Attorney Matthew Winton, Edmond OK. Matthew usually does an hour presentation on common issues faced by HOAs, the second hour is spent answering questions from attendees. Both hours are worth your time!

Mr. Winton has written a legal issues book for HOAs and this is available for purchase at the seminar. I believe the cost is around $80. and well worth it considering there are sample forms, explanation about state law, etc.

Blue Stem Ridge Business Meeting

All residents are encouraged to attend the business meeting on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 7 pm. The meeting is being held at the Moore Public Library.

This is one of the two times a year that the Board of Directors will report on their activities. Plan to attend and bring your questions!
